John originally trained as a Horticulturist and worked in Landscaping and Retail Nurseries. While working in marketing for a leading potting mix company he completed a Bachelor of Business in Marketing. He went on to work for a leading production Nursery for 11 years and as part of the management expanded its reach nationally and through its plant breeding arm internationally. Prior to working for Scotts John managed a Sales and Marketing business in the mushroom industry.

At present as Sales and Marketing Manager for Scotts Professional for Australia and New Zealand, he is responsible to lead the team that interprets Scotts products to growers in the Nursery, Landscape, Turf and Specialty Agriculture markets.
