Kevin Haine from PF Olsen Nursery Wins the Scotts NZ Innovation Award for 2009
Kevin’s ‘Nursery Topper’ innovation had everyone impressed this year. The topper both crops his tops and gathers cuttings for his next crop all in one. Saving both money and time and more efficiently managing this process. Well done Kevin! Check out Kevin’s innovation in action at this link.

Scotts Pro Turf Release
15 new products in 2009
Scotts R&D have been extra busy developing new technologies to meet the needs of the Turf professional.
Greenmaster® Liquid - We have 6 new Greenmaster Liquid lines all with TMax, the powerful nutrient uptake activator. The most exciting line within the range being the unique Greenmaster Liquid Effect Fe, which greens up turf surfaces within 3 hours and lasts up to 6 weeks with no surge in growth.
Sierrablen® Plus - is the new generation Sierrablen with improved coating technology guaranteeing longevities of 3 month or 4-5 month. Facilitating more even feeding and a denser, healthier turf surface leading to even growth and colour. With new smaller granules you now get 7,500 granules/m2 - six times more than CRF/coated standard fertilizers. The smaller size provides better distribution when spreading and disperses fast into the sward.
Fairwaymaster Mini – is a new range of granular NPK fertilisers with coated nitrogen, based on Scotts’ proven Ply-S technology. Containing a fast start portion of nitrogen for an immediate response even at low soil temperatures.
Sierrasol® – our high analysis water soluble fertiliser is now available in a high K formulation, applied as a foliar feed or as a root drench.

The NGIA Awards night for NSW/ACT was on Saturday 8/11/08 and the great news is that Scotts were awarded the honour of Supplier of the Year for 2009.

Combining Scotts’ patented Osmocote controlled release technology, slow release technology and trace elements with the most unique element of all being the new sticking agent that adheres the product to the potting mix surface.
Osmocote is an immediate and long term fertiliser where nutrients are released over a period of 4-5 months whilst still providing upfront nutrition for fast green up.
