Controlled Release Fertiliser
Everris are synonymous with controlled release technology and experts in the development of CRF’s. A controlled release fertiliser is a coated NPK fertiliser controlling the release of the nutrients (N, P & K) for up to 18 months (depending on formulation). Everris’ Osmocote, Agroblen, Forestcote and Sierrablen ranges are CRF’s.
Environmental benefits
Everris controlled release fertiliser products do not add to the high levels of nitrates or phosphates in our rivers or underground water systems.
We are pioneers in the development of controlled (coated) and patterned release fertilisers.
The Everris patented coating technology is an organic, semi-permeable coating (a kind of membrane) of biodegradable resin made from vegetable oils.
Each Osmocote granule is coated to ensure nutrients are made available to the plant over an extended and
predetermined period of time. Therefore nutrients are
protected from leaching and are completely available to
the plant, allowing for efficient and very effective nutrition
without adverse effects in the root zone soil.
Research has shown that temperature most closely correlates to plant growth. So having fertilisers where the only factor controlling nutrient release rates is temperature means there is little wastage.
When temperatures are cool, minimal growth of the plant corresponds to minimal fertiliser release. As temperatures warm, plant growth increases and so does the nutrient release rate.
This process lets the plant take up the majority of nutrients, causing little if any to be leached into our precious waterways.

Everris Tip
The following factors should be balanced when designing a fertiliser program:
- Media components
- N-P-K ratio
- Potential acidity of media
- Individual crop
- Need for secondary and micronutrients
- Other miscellaneous factors
- Growing systems
- Nitrate / ammonium nitrogen balance
